This brand is ran by a rad 17yr old dude named Kaden. It is really cool to see younger dudes getting involved in more than trying to look cool or do whats “in” to try and fit in somehow. He is putting a simple and funny spin on Straight Edge clothing brands.

Bust! Minority Unit exploded into the scene last year with their demo. Early this year, they released their follow-up EP, “C.M.F.” (clear minded fury) on 6131 Records. Boasting members from some prominent southern California bands (New Brigade, Soul Search, Rotting Out and Sleepwalkers), coupled with a stage mosh filled live show, this band is incredible live. Onto the record.

My favorite track on C.M.F. is most definitely “Unsure.” Besides using the Uniform Choice line, it is just a well written song and probably the most unique song on it. It’s fast, it has some sung vocals and most important (in my opinion) circle pits! God damn do I love circle pits.
C.M.F. is a pretty straight forward album. It is Boston influenced youth crew, with some California flavor added into the mix. Think Mental meets Uniform Choice (they even pay homage to UC in “Unsure”) and you have a general idea. In terms of growth, this band has brought a game changer again. The songs are (most importantly to me) fast, catchy, mosh heavy, and are full of gang vocals. These guys are by far my favorite local band to see, and you’d be a fool if you didn’t give this ep a listen.

Killing Time is an online radio show based out of Boston that happens every Wednesday from 7:00pm to 9:00pm EST and is hosted by Amber and John. We’ll be blasting all kinds of hardcore, punk, powerviolence, thrash and whatever noise you want to hear. We’re going to mix old with new, local with non-local, take requests, tell you about upcoming shows, preview releases, interview rad people and do in-studio live sets.
