reviews

So I have been lagging quite a bit with reviews and stuff with non-hardcore responsibilities but I assure you, the review section of this blog will grow at a faster rate than it has been! I will still be posting up reviews of new music, but I am going to start posting pictures/reviews of stuff from my personal collection onto the site. There are a few reviews going into the queue so we’re not attacking your dashboard haha. Have a good day!

Life for a Life is a 5 piece band out of Lancaster, CA. Their new EP entitled “Identity” is 5 tracks of straight up NYHC, and it is awesome. You may have caught them on our Bummer Summer compilation last summer; they have progressed soooo much since the song featured on the comp!

The stand out track in my opinion is “Self Struggle” but honestly, it was real difficult just narrowing it down. Clocking in at just under 10 minutes, this ep brings the heat and brings it fast. Every track on this album is some solid NYHC. Fans of Dmize, War Hound, Naysayer, Madball and TUI should feel right at home with this album.

Catch them opening up for Cold World, Expire, and Dead End Path tonight at the Cobalt Cafef in Canoga Park, CA and War Hound and the Beautiful Ones June 5th at Aladdin Jr in Pomona,CA, and make sure to download or buy a copy of this ep at lifeforalife.bandcamp.com.

II, I was able to sit down with Mexi Mike and the rest of the band and discuss some details and brief overview of Nomads, what they’re all about and their upcoming plans as a band. So we all know that Verse is writing their fourth full-length record that is soon to be released July 17th called “Bitter Clarity, Uncommon Grace” that will be put out by the almighty Bridge 9. Recently they released a sample of this up and coming record with one of the tracks off of it called “The Selfless of the Earth.” Verse is one of my all time favorite hardcore bands and their lyrics and powerful style have moved me since day one.
